This complex development clearly demonstrates the value of our involvement from a project’s earliest days, for Zone 23 was completed to budget and without compromising the development’s design flair. Kingstons provided a comprehensive cost consulting service from the project’s inception through to final account negotiation.
The complexities were created by the design, which is an internal and external semi-industrial look achieved through exposed structural elements and services. Cost control on such a project was challenging and involved many learning curves, and an important part of our solution involved bringing key subcontractors into the loop early on, rather than attempting to fix things on site later.
Zone 23 is an award-winning mixed-use development in Auckland’s Mt Eden district. Two levels of commercial office studios form a podium for 26 maisonette-style two- and three-bedroom apartments formed around a ground floor café and courtyard.
